Abstract
Barotrauma is the most common nonfatal injury that often occurs in divers. Ocular barotrauma is an injury to the eye and periocular structures due to negative pressure that can occur in a diver. The purpose of this study was to determine the causes, clinical manifestations, and treatment of ocular barotrauma in divers. The method used in conducting this research is qualitative methods in the form of literature studies from various national and international journals. The results in this study are ocular barotrauma can cause palpebral edema, eye pain, hyphema, ecchymosis, and subconjunctival hemorrhage. In people with the condition of having gas bubbles in the intraocular can experience blindness due to central retinal artery occlusion. Ocular barotrauma can heal spontaneously, but some of them also require surgical treatment if complications occur.
