The Impact of Adolescent Knowledge Levels and Attitudes Toward Reproductive Health on Efforts to Prevent Free Sex Behavior
Abstract
Premarital sexual behavior among early adolescents triggers serious clinical and psychological impacts, such as unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. This study aimed to analyze the influence of reproductive health knowledge levels and adolescent attitudes toward efforts to prevent free sex behavior among students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Mukhtar Penggalang, Cilacap. This was a quantitative analytical study utilizing a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 120 students selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression tests. The results showed that 48.3% of students had good reproductive health knowledge, 65.0% possessed positive attitudes, and 68.3% demonstrated high free sex prevention efforts. Inferential analysis proved that reproductive health knowledge levels and adolescent attitudes partially had a significant influence on free sex prevention efforts, with the attitude variable exerting a more dominant effect. Simultaneously, both independent variables significantly influenced prevention efforts with a coefficient of determination value of 41.8%, while the remaining 58.2% was influenced by external factors. In conclusion, the integration of health science understanding and religious moral values within the madrasah environment successfully formed a solid cognitive and affective foundation in early adolescents. Free sex prevention efforts will operate optimally if the students' internal capacity is supported by external controls, such as parental monitoring of digital devices at home to suppress exposure to pornographic content from the internet.
